Questions travellers ask us
If your question isn't here, email us — a person answers.

How accurate is the translation?
Parlivon uses current machine translation and speech models, which handle everyday travel conversation well. Like any machine translation it can miss idioms, names and specialist terms, so it is a communication aid rather than a substitute for a professional interpreter. Offline travel phrases go through a review process and can be reported in-app when a phrase does not land.
Which languages are supported?
Live voice, chat and camera translation cover a wide set of major languages, including regional variants such as US, Canadian and UK English and Paris and Canadian French. Downloadable offline phrasebooks are available for 21 languages, and the app interface itself can be set to many more.
Does it work without internet?
Downloaded phrasebooks, their cached pronunciation audio, favourites, flashcards and the show-to-someone cards all work with no signal. Live voice, chat and camera translation need a connection because they run the speech and vision models.
Do I need an account?
No. You can use the Basic tier without signing in. An account is needed when you want to upgrade, sync your settings and favourites across devices, or manage a Family plan.
What does it cost?
There is a Basic tier with a daily translation allowance, paid monthly plans, short Trip Passes for a single holiday, and a Family plan covering up to three mobile devices at the Premium level. Current prices are listed on the pricing page in your local currency where available.
How many devices can I use?
Individual plans are for one signed-in device at a time — signing in elsewhere ends the earlier session. The Family plan covers up to three mobile devices.
How do I cancel?
If you subscribed on the web you can cancel any time from your account, effective at the end of the current billing period. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancel in your store subscription settings — the app links you straight there. No cancellation fees, and no phone call required.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds follow our refund policy, and store purchases are handled under Apple's and Google's refund processes. See the refund policy page for the details and how to ask.
What happens to my conversations and recordings?
Audio is processed to produce a translation, not to build a profile of you. You can review what is stored, export it, or ask us to delete it. Our privacy policy explains data handling and your rights under Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25.
What is Produce Lens?
Produce Lens lets you photograph an unfamiliar fruit or vegetable in a market and get its name, how to pick a good one, how to store it and how it is usually eaten, written in your app language. It is included with Premium, Family and Trip Pass, with up to 60 scans a day, and identifications are automated so you should never rely on them for food-safety or allergy decisions.
Do I need earbuds?
No, but they help — without them the phone speaks the translation out loud. If you do use earbuds, the minimum requirement is TWS (true wireless stereo) earbuds on Bluetooth 5.2, 5.3 or 5.4 that support independent single-ear operation, so each person can wear one bud and hear only their own language.
